General information about Sestri Levante

The territory of Sestri Levante is located in the Riviera di Levante to the east side of Genoa and marks the eastern border of the Gulf of Tigullio (which extends from its peninsula to the promontory of Portofino).

The town stands close to a peninsula, which was called "island" since the Middle Ages. Today the ancient island is joined to the mainland by a sandy isthmus, which divides the Baia di Ponente called "Baia delle Favole" (where there is a tourist port and whose name is said to have been given to it by the writer Hans Christian Andersen), from the smaller and more evocative Baia di Levante, today known as "Baia del Silenzio". The historic center develops between the two bays and the isthmus, while the most recent urban development occupies the entire alluvial plain behind it. The town therefore extends between the sea and the hills of the hinterland and is separated to the north by the Graveglia valley and to the north-east by the Petronio valley). Towards the west, the suggestive Rocche di Sant'Anna separate it from the territory of the Municipality of Lavagna with a panoramic ridge overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio,

Start your day with an unforgettable culinary experience at Sestri Levante Cooking School. Our morning cooking classes start at 10:00am where you will be greeted by one of our friendly team members who will guide you to our school. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with warm Ligurian hospitality that will make you feel part of the family.

Over a cappuccino, our chefs will introduce themselves and give you a brief overview of the delicious three-course meal you will prepare. For approximately the next three hours, you will enjoy a hands-on cooking experience, learning traditional Italian techniques and using fresh, local ingredients. Around 1:00 PM, you will sit down to savor the meal you have created on our terrace, surrounded by beautiful views. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, allowing you to linger and enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace. We look forward to welcoming you to our organic cooking school!

Sunset Cooking Classes

Our sunset cooking classes begin each day at 6:00 PM, starting with a warm welcome from one of our representatives who will escort you to the cooking school in Sestri Levante. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with genuine Ligurian hospitality and treated like family.

Over a glass of local organic wine, our chefs will introduce themselves and give you a brief overview of the delicious three-course meal you will prepare together. The hands-on cooking experience is designed to be both fun and educational, as you work with fresh, local ingredients to create traditional Italian dishes. Around 8:30 p.m., you will sit down to enjoy the meal you have prepared, dining on the terrace with a breathtaking evening view of the Baia delle Favole. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, allowing you to enjoy and savor the evening for as long as you like. We look forward to sharing this special experience with you!
